Staff, volunteers, and administrators are all friendly, welcoming, inclusive
and most-importantly open minded and flexible. There is a genuine love for animals and children that is evident in everyone you meet.
Our daughter often enjoys the interactions with the barn cats as much as her lesson and this is supported and never rushed.
Children with exceptions have needs that are diverse and complex, and often the children most in need are excluded from the very programs designed to support them. As is common in our experience, our daughter doesn't perfectly meet all of the criteria to be in a therapeutic riding program. However, the team at Shining Horizons worked with our daughter's physiotherapist to tailor an individualized riding program that keeps her safe, but has also allowed her to progress beyond anyone's expectations.
The skills gained extend beyond riding and contribute to an overall improvement in the quality of our daughter's life."
